Colintraive ferry 'redeployed'

The Colintraive to Rhubodach ferry has been off for most of the day and will remain out of service tomorrow (October 12) CalMac has said.

MV Loch Alainn has been redeployed to maintain a ‘lifeline service’ on the Largs to Cumbrae route.

The usual Largs vessel was docked for repairs earlier today after it was damaged when it made contact with the seabed at Largs.

This is the latest disruption on this ferry route after the normal vessel the MV Loch DunveganĀ was taken off the route until November 5 following engine problems last week, it’s replacement is a smaller vessel meaning that tri-axle coaches and some commercial vehicles cannot be accommodated and space on deck is reduced.

The Weymss Bay to Rothesay route will not be affected.
