The full winter timetable will be reinstated for the Wemyss Bay-Rothesay route from Monday (December 9), CalMac has confirmed.
This has been made possible by the completion of the sub-surface phase of the Rothesay pier stabilisation works by Argyll and Bute Council and their contractors.
A CalMac spokesperson said: “While work on the project continues, the completion of this phase means that both vessels will be able to return to berth overnight on Bute. This will allow us to bring back the second daily sailing from Rothesay and the second last sailing from Wemyss Bay, as well as the 1905 Sunday sailing from Wemyss Bay
The spokesperson added: “We welcome the investment being made by Argyll and Bute Council to upgrade the infrastructure at Rothesay to secure the long-term sustainability of a reliable ferry service, and would like to thank the council, AECOM and Shearwater Marine Services for their cooperation during this works period.”
